Could this senseless Spring Hill lounge shooting have been prevented?

A shooting outside Delirium Lounge in Spring Hill reportedly left Jose Alonso Jr. and his stepson, Xzavier Ramos injured Sunday morning, February 11, 2018.
According to WFLA 8, officers responded to gunfire at “the Delirium Lounge on Mariner Boulevard just before 2 a.m.” Police apparently told FOX 13, a male suspect was “interacting with a young lady and she was not happy about it.” Mr. Alonso and Mr. Ramos bravely “stepped in to defend her honor.” The suspect allegedly opened fire during the subsequent struggle, striking and injuring both Mr. Alonso and Mr. Ramos.
